PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH CO., Frisco, TX, 2001 - present

Semi Retired Consultant on structural Optimization projects.

TRIPOINT / VERTEX / RSI, RICHARDSON, TX, 1993 – 2001

Technical Staff

Responsibilities include structural and vibration analyses and optimization of antennas and phased arrays using hand calculation and the Finite Element Method. Antenna sizes from 11 Mt. to 21 Mt. Responsible for developing wind and seismic loads; pointing error and surface accuracy; servo interface date, and soil specification. Predicted structural performances and frequencies of vibration compare very closely with measured values due to superior modeling techniques. Major project efforts include design and optimization of 1,000 and 4,000 Kip Phased Array, with its supporting concrete tower and foundation; project engineering on major defense antenna, including the national Missile Defense.

STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH CO., BEDFORD, TX, 1983 – 1993

President

Development of general-purpose structural optimization software, which was released to the market in 1983. Duties include software development, research in FEM and structural optimization, 3-D graphics, marketing, sales, documentation, and consulting on many structural design projects such as: offshore structures, industrial steel buildings, office buildings, transmission towers, landing gears, and defense projects (aircraft – missile – marine). Software / consulting contracts, from 1985-1990, with McDermott Inc. (offshore structures), and Menaso Inc. (landing gears for A22 and A12 aircrafts).

UNIVERSITY COMPUTING CO. DALLAS, TX, 1979 – 1983

Manager of Engineering Services

Responsible for $ 10 million structural business, and 40 engineers in US, Canada, and Europe. Duties include technical and marketing directions, technical and management seminars, development of internal training seminars, consultative sales, budget and planning responsibilities, contract negotiation with software and hardware vendors, and development of CAD/CAM computer system.

ONTARIO RESEARCH FOUNDATION, TORONTO, CANADA, 1976 – 1979

Research Engineer

Duties consisted of computerized design and analysis of power plant components, stress analysis of a bus, design and analysis of a bridge, heavy equipments, material handling, pressure vessels, composite tank, LNG piping, nuclear valves, foundation, towers, buildings, fans and car’s radiators. Applications include elastic / plastic, creep, dynamic, seismic and stability analyses.

VIBRON LIMITED, TORONTO, CANADA, 1975 – 1976

Consulting Engineer

Consulting on many projects such as vibration analysis and frequency measurements of transformer, dynamic and vibration response of a subway car, vibration analysis and measurements of baseball stadium, the tallest free standing CN tower, dynamic design of vertical axis wind mill, and free floating gymnasium floor.

SCIENTIFIC COMPUTATION CENTER, CAIRO, EGYPT, 1970 – 1973

Consulting Engineer

Solving different scientific and engineering problems such as developing general purpose software for concrete building design and transmission towers, underground water level forecast, road design using computers and different numerical analysis techniques.
